Changelog
Last updated: 2 August 2026
2 August 2026 · Previews stay visible in strict browsers
- Imported pages now have their analytics and tracking scripts stripped out, so strict privacy settings in Edge, Brave and ad-blockers can't blank the preview.
- Some clients were seeing "This content is blocked" instead of the work; that's fixed.
- Previews imported before this are cleaned automatically the next time they're opened, so there's nothing to redo.
27 July 2026 · Imported pages actually look right now
- Pull a site in by URL and it renders like the real thing, with its styles, images and scripts all coming through Pinpoints.
- Previously anything built with a modern framework arrived blank or unstyled, because browsers block those files across sites.
- If a page can't be hosted from a link at all, we now tell you on import rather than letting the client find out.
- The New preview window is wider, with the content tabs on one line.
16 July 2026 · Review rounds, resolved pins and attachments
- Clients submit their comments as one numbered round, so you get a single notification with the whole lot instead of a trickle.
- Mark a comment resolved and its pin turns green with a tick, the way Figma does it.
- Clients can attach photos, PDFs and exact colour swatches to a comment, so "make it warmer" comes with the hex.
- Group a preview's open comments into a ready-to-build brief with source location, element and the client's exact words, ready to paste into your coding agent.
- Every pin captures the element the client clicked, and that crop now shows on the feedback card.
12 July 2026 · PDF review and faster navigation
- Upload a PDF and clients pin comments on any page, same as a website.
- Ctrl/Cmd + K opens a command palette that jumps to any page, client or review.
- Point feedback at a Slack channel or your own webhook alongside email.
- Re-uploading an image or PDF keeps the previous version restorable.
11 July 2026 · Host a whole build
- Drop in a .zip and Pinpoints hosts the entire multi-page site, with the feedback widget on every page.
- Email when feedback lands, batched so a busy review doesn't flood your inbox, plus a Monday digest of what's still open.
- Every preview shows whether the client has looked: "viewed 2h ago" or "not viewed yet".
- Version history keeps every replacement one click away.
- A permanent approval record for each sign-off with who approved, when, and any note.
9 July 2026 · Review images, not just websites
- New preview then Image: upload a mockup, screenshot or design.
- Clients pin comments right on the image, exactly where they mean.
- Share links, sign-off and your feedback inbox all work the same.
4 July 2026 · Source-level anchors and agent-ready exports
- The new vite-plugin-pinpoint package tags every pinned comment with the exact source location of the clicked element, like src/App.jsx:14:10. No DOM changes, zero cost when disabled.
- Click-to-select inspector: hover highlight while leaving feedback, with a verified CSS selector, visible text and current styles stored on each anchor.
- Exports for agents: JSON change requests, an agent-prompt and Markdown format with source locations, and status filtering.
- Self-serve accounts with per-account isolation, a free plan, and a forgot-password flow with single-use, one-hour reset links.
- The console, sign-in and review surfaces share the landing page's warm palette, and the feedback widget behaves on phones.
Earlier · The foundations
- Client review rooms: one branded link per client listing everything shared with them.
- Sign-off: clients approve a preview with one click, recorded with name and note.
- Source protection: optional per-preview mangling of inline JavaScript on hosted previews.
- Token-gated hosting: private, unguessable preview links with expiry and revocation.
